Passenger rules

Helmets & comfort for passengers
Florida doesn't require helmets in an autocycle (details in the safety guide). For passengers we recommend sunglasses, sunscreen and a light jacket at night — the open cockpit is the whole fun, and a little prep makes it comfortable for everyone.

Can kids ride in a Polaris Slingshot?
Yes, if they no longer need a car seat or booster: they must sit firmly in the seat, feet flat on the floor, and wear the 3-point belt properly. Children requiring child restraints cannot ride — the seats aren't designed to anchor them.
How old do you have to be to drive a rental Slingshot?
21 or older with a valid regular driver's license. Passengers can be any age as long as they pass the seat-and-belt rule.
How many passengers fit in a Slingshot?
The standard Slingshot seats 2. Our fleet also includes a 4-seater and a 6-seater, so groups up to 6 can ride together in one vehicle.
Do Slingshot passengers need a helmet in Florida?
No — Florida's autocycle classification exempts belted occupants from the motorcycle helmet law. Wearing one anyway is always allowed.
Can I put a car seat or booster in a Slingshot?
No — the seats and belts aren't engineered to anchor child restraints, so children who still need one can't ride. It's a safety line we don't cross.
